What is a Personal Life Coach?

I wanted to write a piece about coaching this morning to clarify the role as a Personal Coach. First of all I am not a therapist or a counsellor, a business coach or a health coach. I am a personal life coach. As your personal life coach I will assist you to assess your present "life in balance" score. Once that is done you will understand very quickly the areas of life that seem undervalued or out of balance.

One can not keep doing the same actions over and over again thinking one will achieve a different result. Something must shift in one's thoughts and eventually actions. If what you are ready for is change, together we will find a better way to achieve what you do want to experience.

We are only human and it is normal to feel some negative effects of the past and our present life condition. Part of the process of life coaching is review, reflection, new ways of thinking and new ways of action to feel awesome in present day life. Most people have some deep seated thoughts and emotions connected to their past and that's fine. Although if those thoughts and emotions become roadblocks to present day joys of  living, then it's time for change.

I sure was ready for changes and wow, how life has changed! I was stuck for many years and still do get stuck, it's only natural. The difference between now and then is, I was given a whole new set of life tools to build me up. I want to pass on my experience, tools, knowledge, insight, and passion to you.

Are sick and tired of the same old same old ?
Are you ready for exciting change?

What I think has little to do with your progress. To clarify that sentence, I do not form opinion by telling you what you should do. I listen and support you. You in turn act upon your thoughts because the funny thing, is you already know what you need to do most of the time and I will assist you to "just do it".

As your coach we will quickly move through road blocks, negative thinking and procrastination to set you free, so to speak. You will then set the tangible obtainable goals and begin to live, breath and experience whatever joy you want to experience.

I invite you take valuable break from your commitments and responsibilities to complete your    complimentary coaching exercise.

I would love to hear from you about your results, because I care.

Thank you for your time and interest.

Coaching conversation

I had a conversation over the weekend about coaching that went something like this:

We talked about marketing what a coach does and new ways to get the word out about our work with indivduals in our community and abroad. We came to the conclusion that although many more people would benefit from a coaching relationship the majority of people had such a comon human condition I would call, numbness.

You see being numb is the process of handling so much stress and responsibilities that there is little time to dedicate to self for reflection and problem solving of life's stresses. The majority of people choose to distract themselves away from deep reflection concerning their happiness. The distractions come in many forms which include; tv, major debt for adult toys and addictions such as alcohol or drugs legel or illegal along with many other forms of distraction. Change needs reflection, honesty with self and a commitment to change what is not working and change needs time. The time commitment to self is where there is often a coach can effectively draw out the answers needed by effective questions so there can be a much deeper understanding of crisis, assist with a healing and rebuilding more balance and happiness into the people we serve.

We both felt so passionate about our role in society as coaches and so honored to be of assistance to those who choose to welcome the work we do into their lives. We witness new beginnings, new ways of thinking and new ways of being, we are blessed.

Thank you.

Dealing with Radical Change

Dealing with radical change often causes inner conflict whether the change is personal or business. Radical change within a business often causes friction between management and those who are used to the old ways of doing things. Personal change can mean having to accept a new way that a person acts while managing your emotions about it. Either way, managing radical change is difficult if you are unfamiliar with the path to coping.

It's time for RESOLUTIONS once again

Hi there,

yes the New Year is fast approaching, the time of year when many want to improve their lives with a resolution. Resolutions can be very personal or very much a shared experience. There are inner goals and outer goals. Whatever the goal it takes reflection, clarity, focus, priority and commitment of self in order to  receive the desired outcome.

My resolution this year is to connect with my home community of Kelowna and continue reaching out more to the global community. I intend to meet many more people, understand how I can help and develop lasting friendships. I also intend  to get fit, be comfortable public speaking, sing, act and meet fellow photographers and artists.

Care to make a new friend?

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Choice Theory

The Ten Axioms of Choice Theory
The only person whose behavior we can control is our own.
All we can give another person is information.
All long-lasting psychological problems are relationship problems.
The problem relationship is always part of our present life.
What happened in the past has everything to do with what we are today, but we can only satisfy our basic needs right now and plan to continue satisfying them in the future.
We can only satisfy our needs by satisfying the pictures in our Quality World.
All we do is behave.
All behavior is Total Behavior and is made up of four components: acting, thinking, feeling and physiology.
All Total Behavior is chosen, but we only have direct control over the acting and thinking components. We can only control our feeling and physiology indirectly through how we choose to act and think.
All Total Behavior is designated by verbs and named by the part that is the most recognizable.
