This is the real situation in British Columbia Canada. The picture is not a joke, the message is in protest. Ambulance services personnel are still providing their services with no contact with no negotiations offered by the local government, as far as I know.

I never knew they could do that! DDD: Ambulance on strike! Brilliant!
Its more of a protest statement as they are still performing their duties.
I think its a good idea to make noise. but when I saw the photo part of me thought it could scare people. You know and I now know they are still working. However I think seeing that on the street could cause a concern with onlooker. A strike happens when the people in control will not give an take what is fair. Are the main issues being broadcasted for the people to know? Last I heard in massachusetts the firemen are also striking and negotiations were at a standstill. The main issue was the firemens union refuse to accept drug testings.
I can partly understand the money issues, but to outright refuse drug tests? I mean come on, i would have to take that to work at burger king. Lastly I thought your first attempt with your story was really good.
Health Care? what a joke,
The reason for my comment is we place a price on weather someone lives on die's and we call ourselves a superpower.
THis story is an unfortunate reality of our times. As the baby boomers age, who will pay for their care. Budget cuts are seen in all sectors of health care in Canada and include wage demands and worker safety. The ambulance workers are being over worked by being under staffed with ever increasing demands dictated to them. I do not have the answer as it boils down to, how much it will cost. Money money money!!! We even have unmaned fire stations here, in a very populus area of the lower mainland of BC, Canada!!!
